Living here

Chueca is where Madrid's most talked-about restaurants open, alongside specialty coffee shops and high-end boutiques. Its streets stay lively from morning until late at night. Regueros is one of the barrio's calmer streets, around the corner from Plaza de las Salesas. Gran Vía, the city's grand avenue of theaters, is a short walk away. The Retiro, Madrid's best-loved park, is about fifteen minutes on foot. Alonso Martínez metro, on lines 4, 5 and 10, is five minutes from the door.

The apartment

Set in a historic building, this apartment pairs period details with contemporary design furniture. The living room is beautiful, with floor-to-ceiling windows in the classic style that give it a graceful sense of height. The apartment is bright throughout.

The modern kitchen opens partly onto the living room, its sleek cabinetry finished in a bold yellow. The appliances are all integrated: a refrigerator, a dishwasher, an oven, a stove and a microwave. A long dining table stands directly in front of the kitchen, in the manner of a chef's table.

The main bedroom is at the far end of the apartment, with a soft rug underfoot. It has its own bathroom, so the room works as a self-contained suite. The second bedroom has a single bed. Upholstered walls make it cozy, private and quiet.

The en suite bathroom has a bathtub for long soaks and a vanity with generous storage. A heated towel rack keeps towels warm through the cooler months. Beyond the bathroom is the apartment's showpiece: an impressive walk-in closet with room for an entire wardrobe, a rare find in a city apartment.

What to know before booking

Arrival is from 15:00 and departure before 11:00. Arrival or departure between 21:00 and 09:00 can be arranged in advance. There is a €25 supplement, paid in cash on arrival, which goes in full to the person who comes out to meet you.

We welcome you with a complimentary set of essentials. If you would like them replenished during your stay, get in touch and we will arrange it at cost.

Cleaning during your stay is available whenever you want it: €60 for a two-hour visit, or €80 including fresh bed linen and towels.

Pets are welcome in many of our apartments. Tell us which apartment you have in mind and we will confirm. There is an additional cleaning charge of €200.

These are homes in residential buildings, so we ask that evenings stay quiet after 22:00. Having friends over is never a problem. If you are planning something larger, write to us at [email protected]. Depending on the apartment and its building, it is often possible, with an additional deposit.

Your card holds a deposit, between €250 and €1,000 depending on the apartment, and you see the amount before you pay. Nothing is charged and nothing leaves your account. It is released at the end of your stay. Should there ever be damage, we would speak to you first, with the detail in front of us.

Water, electricity and heating are included, up to €150 a month in studios and one-bedroom apartments and up to €250 a month in apartments of two bedrooms or more. If a month goes beyond that, the difference is settled from the deposit at the end of your stay and we show you the readings.

As this is a residential stay rather than a tourist one, we will ask you before arrival about the purpose of your stay and for a document supporting it. We will write to you with exactly what is needed, and someone will be there to sign the agreement with you when you arrive.

Cancellation

Free cancellation up to 14 days before arrival, with a full refund.

Cancellations made less than 14 days before arrival are charged the full amount of the booking.

Once your stay has begun, you may shorten it. Give us at least 14 days’ notice before the new departure date and we refund the nights not used from that date.

If an apartment were unavailable for reasons beyond your control, you may choose between an equivalent apartment or a full refund.
