Living here

Plaza del Este sits in Tetuán, an everyday barrio of Madrid where neighbors know the shopkeepers and the pace stays unhurried. The Castellana runs close by, and Parque de la Ventilla is a pleasant place for a walk. A Mercadona and other supermarkets handle the weekly shop, and Chamartín station is reachable on foot for trains beyond the city. On weekends, the walk to the park is the natural way to start the day.

The apartment

Architecturally renovated from end to end, this first-floor walk-up gives you 100 m² of usable space and a private outdoor area, a real luxury in Madrid. The terrace leads to a guest house of its own, with a workspace, so visiting friends or a quiet working day each have their own corner, apart from the main home.

Inside, the kitchen is designed like a chef's: a beautiful oven and microwave, a marble-look backsplash, and plenty of storage, with a breakfast bar alongside. The dining area sits close by, set among artwork and carefully chosen furniture. The flat-screen TV is housed in a built-in wood unit that gives the living space a warm, finished look.

All three bedrooms are spacious, with discreetly modern hidden closets, and one has its own en-suite bathroom. The bathrooms have backlit mirrors, and one has a walk-in shower. In the evening, the terrace is where the home settles: a table outside, the guest house lit beyond it, and the rooms behind you ready for the night.

What to know before booking

Arrival is from 15:00 and departure before 11:00. Arrival or departure between 21:00 and 09:00 can be arranged in advance. There is a €25 supplement, paid in cash on arrival, which goes in full to the person who comes out to meet you.

We welcome you with a complimentary set of essentials. If you would like them replenished during your stay, get in touch and we will arrange it at cost.

Cleaning during your stay is available whenever you want it: €60 for a two-hour visit, or €80 including fresh bed linen and towels.

Pets are welcome in many of our apartments. Tell us which apartment you have in mind and we will confirm. There is an additional cleaning charge of €200.

These are homes in residential buildings, so we ask that evenings stay quiet after 22:00. Having friends over is never a problem. If you are planning something larger, write to us at [email protected]. Depending on the apartment and its building, it is often possible, with an additional deposit.

Your card holds a deposit, between €250 and €1,000 depending on the apartment, and you see the amount before you pay. Nothing is charged and nothing leaves your account. It is released at the end of your stay. Should there ever be damage, we would speak to you first, with the detail in front of us.

Water, electricity and heating are included, up to €150 a month in studios and one-bedroom apartments and up to €250 a month in apartments of two bedrooms or more. If a month goes beyond that, the difference is settled from the deposit at the end of your stay and we show you the readings.

As this is a residential stay rather than a tourist one, we will ask you before arrival about the purpose of your stay and for a document supporting it. We will write to you with exactly what is needed, and someone will be there to sign the agreement with you when you arrive.

Cancellation

Free cancellation up to 14 days before arrival, with a full refund.

Cancellations made less than 14 days before arrival are charged the full amount of the booking.

Once your stay has begun, you may shorten it. Give us at least 14 days’ notice before the new departure date and we refund the nights not used from that date.

If an apartment were unavailable for reasons beyond your control, you may choose between an equivalent apartment or a full refund.
